A VC-backed robotics company founded by MIT grads has a new 18,000 sf home in a turn-of-the-century auto service garage in the tech hub of Cambridge. The project is a case study in deconstruction and reuse. Original tension rod trusses support a new light monitor and harvested brick walls form a mosaic screen wall in the main stair. An auto parts loft is reused for a break out mezzanine and the original auto elevator shuttles robot prototypes and workers to the second floor studios.

design collaboration: SimmonsSTUDIO with Daniel J Raih Architect
